Population: The preliminary estimate of the global population is 4.55–8.6 million mature individuals. In Kazakhstan, it is a common migratory nesting bird, there are no numbers.

Habitat. It is widespread almost everywhere in Kazakhstan: in steppes, semi-deserts and even deserts, and in the mountains it rises in places to 2100 meters above sea level.
