Population: Common species. The number is about 80 thousand individuals.  

Status. Non-endangered game animal

Habitat.  It is widespread almost everywhere in Kazakhstan, but avoids dry, arid areas. It lives in floodplain forests and steppe areas adjacent to the floodplain. For the Eurasian Badger, the soil condition is important, which allows it to arrange burrows in dry and non-flooded places. It is quite common in mountainous areas: Tien Shan, Zhetysu Alatau, Tarbagatai, Saur, Altai, and in the foothills and mountains of Kungei.
